Six die in bus, trishaw crash

A luxury bus and a three wheeler collided along Kalmunai – Akkaraipathu Main Road at Attappalam, Ninthavur on Tuesday evening killing six on the spot. Mohamed Hassan Jameena, 35, M H Raihana, 26, M Irfana, 24, Akthar Ahamed, 2 , Amhar Ahamed, 3 , and three wheeler driver M Issadeen, 50, died in the accident.

They are from Kalmunai. Investigations revealed, the bus was traveling to Colombo from Ninthavur with 27 persons. The three wheeler with three adults and two children was proceeding from Akkaraipathu when the two vehicles collided. The bus driver is in police custody. Sammanthurai and Kalmunai Police are investigating.
