A special program to show scientific documentary films to schoolchildren

A special program to show scientific documentary films to schoolchildren is to be introduced by the Technology and Research Ministry. These films are about latest scientific innovations and about the lives of world famous scientists'.

This program will be launched via School Science Societies.

The aim of the Program is to create a Science and Technology environment within the schools.

This also will enable students to acquire knowledge on the latest science researches, innovations and latest developments in Information Technology.

Meanwhile the Ministry has launched another program to upgrade and improve School Science Societies. This will also facilitate the establishing of new Science Societies in schools.

The new program will start from the next school term.

This program will help schools acquire knowledge from scientists for their science programs and researches and provide an opportunity to participate in science related exhibitions,seminars, workshops, field trips to member schools.

School Science Societies Development program will be implemented with the support of the Education Ministry, Arthur C. Clarke Centre, National Science Foundation, Nano-technology Institute, ICTA, Sri Lanka Inventor's Commission, Sri Lanka Planetarium, and National Engineering Research and Development Centre.
