Muralitharan has announced his retirement officially

Muralitharan has announced his retirement officially at a news conference in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.

He says that he had a "clean" career and doesn't regret questions on the legality of his bowling action because people are entitled to their own opinion.

Muralitharan, who holds the record for most test wickets at 792, will be playing his 133rd and final test in Galle starting July 18.

He will however continue to play limited-overs cricket until the 2011 World Cup.
