| S Korea: China, Japan and South Korea Foreign Ministers agreed to strengthen their cooperation ties in a preparatory meeting for a forthcoming summit of the leaders of the three countries.
At this preparatory meeting in the South Korean city of Gyeongju, the Foreign Ministers Yang Jiechi of China, Katsuya Okada of Japan, and Korean counterpart Yu Myung-hwan, were pleased by the development of the tripartite cooperation, which contributes to the development of their countries and peace, prosperity and regional stability, according to a statement.
In addition to addressing issues related to the Summit announced for this month in the South Korean island of Jeju, the Ministers exchanged views on common interests, including the situation in Northeast Asia and climate change.
The parties noted with satisfaction the results of this cooperation, significant in the operation of more than 50 consultation mechanisms, in addition to political, economic, and social projects.During the meeting, Yang and Okada held talks focusing on the development of bilateral ties and strengthening friendship.
The three countries will hold another Ministerial meeting May 23 to discuss a Free Trade Agreement. |
